                    Morning star medical centre is the long   cherished dream of Rev. Fr. John .J. Pinakkattu.  MSMC based at Adimali Township was set up in 1985 under Nazareth Medical Society by a group of dedicated and committed Religious Sisters belonging to the Congregation of Sisters of Nazareth (CSN). Registered as charitable Society, Morning Star Medical Centre is providing health care and treatment services to needy people of high range forest region at an affordable cost. Society is dedicated to healing ministry of downtrodden and marginalized people irrespective of caste, creed, race and religion. 
Over a period of three decades Hospital continues to serve people both through static and outreach programme with motto ‘LOVE HEALS’. From the humble beginning in 1985 , today  our hospital has grown as full- fledged  hospital initially with 50 bedded facilities for General Medicine , X-Ray and Lab. However over the years number of patients has been considerably increased and facilities enhanced to accommodate  160 in patients for care and treatment.  As of now , 14 doctors are working in various departments with specialization such as General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Pediatrics with Neonatology, Orthopedics and Trauma Care Unit, ENT, Dental Unit, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry, Radiology , Cardiology and Ophthalmology. Moreover , Casualty care and services are provided round the clock with licensed blood bank , Hemodialysis, Mammography, Bio chemistry, Bacteriology, Hematology,  Computerized X-Ray, ECG,  Audiogram, Hearing aids, Dietary department, C-ARM, Ultrasonography,  Physiotherapy, Dialysis Unit,  CCU, NICU, Cardiotocography(CTG), C T Scan, Well equipped Operation Theatre, Laparoscopy, Endoscopy. Nazarath medical society managed hospital is stationed at adimali which is one of the 10 blocks of Idukki districts of Kerala state in south India. As per official report, district has population of over 10 lakh people spread about 52,045 in urban area and 10,56,929 in rural area. It is one of  the backward districts in Kerala state lagging far behind in terms of human life development index. It is because of topography with hilly dense forests and mountains covering an area about 4,358 km2. Great chunk of people living in this area are tribal, poor marginal farmers and manual labors. Landless labors work heard in plantation and vegetable gardens for their daily bread. 
Transportation facilities are very minimal in this area, so that the people in  this area. Have to walk kilometers to reach for any medical facilities. There are more than 25 tribal settlement colonies in this area, majority living below poverty line with chronic health problem. Due to inadequate primary health services and health care providers, health condition of women and children are very vulnerable.
